Everyone welcome back to the second podcast here from the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement. My name is Ryan Newton Graduate Assistant here for leadership and I am with a special guest today.
[L]:
Hi, it’s Lisa Strange (?) and also a Graduate Assistant here for the Leadership Studies Minor Program and I’m a second year PhD student in Adult Education.
[R]:
So Lisa’s got some exciting news for us she’s been working on something all semester and wants to share that today on our podcast. So, Lisa why don’t you tell us a little bit about the Leadership Studies Minor
[L]:
Sure, it’s , right now it’s, we just kind of restructured it so that it’s more logic in taking, in order of the way you take the classes which that will start and be in effect in Fall of 2011.
[R]:
So, with this leadership studies minor they can start taking classes whenever and they will be offered in the Fall. what kind of classes are going to be in the program or do they have selective options, or are they required to take just 6 classes? How does that work?
[L]:
Yes, we are starting in the Fall like I said it will be required to have the core courses and one of the Leadership Fundamental course will be a prerequisite for most; you have to have that first, but there are other electives and we have elective courses that are even outside of the LDR course sequencing which is the one such as Organizational Communications and that’s a communications class. So there’s lots of opportunities for other electives that are being offered.
[R]:
Okay, so it sounds like that fundamentals class is the first one everybody has to take and then after that there are opportunities for personal growth, personal development, kind of learn about yourself and learn more about leadership through the bevy of classes that are offered throughout the years
[L]:
Absolutely! Yes, and you can also click on our website on the left hand side column under leadership studies minor and that will take you directly to the course sequencing page and get more information from there and contact information as well.
[R]:
